VIDEO

I coursed some classes about video and recording during the Certificate of Higher Education in Ilumination, Capture and Image Treatment since 2016 to 2018.

This project was based in a documentary film called "Life in a day" that was a project from Youtube in 2011. The idea was that the users of Youtube had to send a part of their day recorded July 24, and after that the winner director of the Oscar Kevin Macdonald had to edit the videos of the participants and do the film. The purpose was to capture the essence of the life on Earth.

The teacher proposed to all the classes of the same modality that we had to record on September 23, 2017, despite not knowing the other classes, which made it more interesting as well.

The video shows the day of a different students the same day and you can see a lot of different ways to spend the day because, for example, that day one of the students was in Africa volunteering, other people were in a concert, others were just chilling in their houses or in the field, with friends, family or couple. We could see the way people we did not even know passed the day and it is very curious because there were a lot of different plans, places and even thoughts. 

One of the voices in the video is a girl talking about life. She was in my class and putting her voice while watching the fast-motion video of the cars on the street seems like a good contrast to me because she said: "Something to make me cry... The injustices that happens everyday and what we do not know and what we will never know" and I think that this is the essence too, because we really do not know anything about anything in this world but here we are all of us in the same planet living our life the best way we know.

This was a very interesting project that makes you think about life and how little we know about others even though we share with them small moments throughout the day or life.
